The whole political stance of the university needs to be re-examined. Over all, the three authors which will be discussed later only focused on a certain specific periods of time of the university according the their own interests. These periods were certainly important in the development of Fu Ren University and deserved analysis. However, these particular periods don’t tell the whole history of the university. Therefore, each individual author’s view will be specified. Comments on Individual Authors Wu Xiao-xin offers us his view in his dissertation that Fu Ren University was a joint effort of Western and Eastern scholars during CRITICAL LITERATURE REVIEW AND VIEW POINTS 35 the Benedictine period.

Though her view is rather disputable, her attention is centered on the survival of the university during wartime in China.
