A twist in these planes should produce a tilt of the equatorial Laue spots when the whisker is aligned with its axis along the axis of the cylindrical camera. Dragsdrof and Webb [85] had measured the tilt of the Laue spots and from this determined the Burgers vector of the screw dislocation. Krishan Lai and Peneva felt that the method used by Dragsdrof and Webb was approximate. Krishan Lai worked out a rigorous analytical method for the determination of the shapes of the diffracting planes from the observed shapes of the Laue spots.

This work had shown that the details of the D X S distribution, particularly the anisotropy in the distribution, is sensitive to the thermal history of the specimen. Experi ments were performed on Si specimens which were deliberately heated under oxygen at 1000°C to produce clusters of oxygen.
