HAROLD ISBELL graduated from Loras College, Iowa, in 1959. He took his MA in 1962 at the University of Notre Dame, later joining the university’s faculty in the Program of Liberal Studies. Prior to 1972 he was Writer in Residence, Director of the Writing Program, and most recently held the position of Associate Professor of English at St Mary’s College at Notre Dame. From 1972 until 1983 he was an officer and a director of the Continental Bank and Trust Company in Salt Lake City. Over the years he has served on the boards of directors of one school, two ballet companies and a publishing house.
