Non-Standard Nodal Boundary Elements for FEM-BEM Salvatore Alfonzetti and Nunzio Salerno Abstract This paper presents a novel family of nodal boundary elements to be used in the context of the hybrid FEM-BEM method to deal with unbounded static and quasi-static electromagnetic field problems. In this new type of boundary elements the field variable is developed by means of classical polynomial shape functions of a given order, whereas its normal derivative is developed with lower-order shape functions.

They make an important part of the whole optimization process, as they belong to one of the constraint groups and for each individual a full computation cycle of the luminous flux distribution must be carried out. Computation complexity of the task is so elevated that application of the methods allowing for shortening total computation time becomes important. In the computation system developed by the authors it was achieved by the use of a paralleled algorithm of determining the luminous flux distribution.
