**Who will like it:** clinical mystery enthusiasts, in addition to devotees of Patricia Cornwell, Kathy Reichs, and Tess Gerritsen, but additionally a person who loves a conventional secret starring an easygoing beginner detective. it's going to really attract lovers of Jewish detectives like Rabbi Small, Peter Decker and Rina Lazarus, Rebecca Schwartz, Jake Samson—even Moses Wine (without the wisecracks); and people who love classic male sleuths like Ellery Queen, Gideon Oliver, Tubby Dubonnet, Stanley Hastings, and just about all British detectives--the ones who're no longer too comfortable, but no longer too hard-boiled. How can we comprehend? simply because Alex is a kind of responsible detectives all too infrequent in crime fiction—a inner most investigator you definitely wish to be with. now not too smart-mouthed, now not too close-mouthed, just…kind of a mensch.

Further discussion in text. (From Franz [3]) It is of interest to note that (using DC-coupled amplification) the contact electrode MAP systolic potential overshoots the zero reference (isoelectric potential) by approximately one third and that the diastolic potential lies two thirds beneath the zero reference, as compared to the total MAP amplitude (Fig. 1). This ratio is independent of the absolute magnitude of the MAP signal. In contrast, TAP recordings referenced to absolute zero potential exhibit a ratio of approximately 1/4 : 3/4 for the systolic and diastolic potential, respectively [1).

Not All MAPs Are Created Equal As explained above, high quality MAP signals depend on a number of circumstances. These include: (a) the electrode material, size, and configuration, (b) the method of producing stable contact pressure and maintaining proper angulation between the exploring and reference MAP electrode and the myocardial surface, (c) the amplifier characteristics and filter settings, and (d), last not least, a thorough understanding of the mechanism of the MAP genesis itself. Any new MAP recording method that wishes to be taken seriously should allow itself to be submitted to the challenging test of comparing it with the "gold standard" - the TAP wave form (as was done by Hoffman, Franz, and others).

Who refined the suction electrode technique (see the chapter by B. Olsson, this book) and demonstrated the value of MAP recording in exploring human cardiac electrophysiology. To keep the suction electrode catheter tip in close adherence to the endocardium, negative pressures ranging from 75 to 300 mmHg were applied with a suction pump. The suction electrode technique required suction pumps, three-way stop cocks, air-bubble filters to prevent air emboli, and other precautions which made their clinical use cumbersome.
